Buy poker chips - US open: Cisco/Apple deal lifts techs, Dow dips
LONDON (SHARECAST) - US stocks were mixed in early deals as news that Cisco and Apple have settled their differences over the iPhone trademark lifted the tech index, but blue chips gave back initial gains.
UK blue chips closed higher, but off peaks, as early strength on Wall Street evaporated on rising oil prices, while solid full year numbers from BAE and Centrica held the index in positive territory.
