Stamped poker chips - Dell launches its first AMD-based notebook
Updated: 02 Nov 2006 Dell launched its first notebook PC powered by a processor from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) instead of an Intel chip. With the Inspiron 1501, Dell offers users a choice between AMD's low-end Sempron, mobile Turion 64, and dual-core Turion 64 X2 chips.
HONG KONG (Dow Jones) -- Asian stocks were mostly lower in early trading Thursday, as Australia's leading index fell back from record highs on weakness in the resource sector while Japan's Nikkei also softened as blue-chips such as Canon Inc. and Nikon Corp. lost ground on concerns over the U.S. economy.
